The Foo Fighters are an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1994. The band was founded by Dave Grohl, the former drummer for Nirvana, following the death of Nirvana's lead vocalist Kurt Cobain.
Grohl shifted to guitar and vocals and enlisted fellow musicians to form the Foo Fighters. The Foo Fighters are known for their dynamic and energetic rock sound, combining elements of alternative, post-grunge, and hard rock.
